Chocolate Orange Olive Oil Cookies

I made these Chocolate Orange Olive Oil

Cookies recently; one of a few recipes I whipped together for our new neighbors. After a couple attempts, I feel super happy with how this one came out.

The first batch I still loved, but the dough was just a little too crumbly and hard to work with; while the cookies still tasted great and had awesome texture, I felt invited to cut back on the flour, and add a little more olive oil; this tweak resulted in a nice moist dough, to make some super rich chocolate cookies with all the olive oil and orange yumminess.

Notes:

Something about the combination of chocolate, orange and olive oil is AWESOME. But, in case there are some folks out there who aren’t a fan of baking with olive oil (or just don’t have it on hand all the time), feel free to try replacing the olive oil with another fat- like melted coconut oil, melted butter, or maybe even avocado oil- adjust the recipe as needed to find your sweet spot.

As far as decoration- if I had oranges on me at the time, I would have loved to top these with some orange zest for a pop of color.
